Bar Supervisor – The Tuning Fork

The Tuning Fork, located alongside Spark Arena, is a 400-capacity live entertainment venue bringing some of Auckland’s best concerts, comedy, and events to the stage.

We’re looking for an experienced and energetic Bar Supervisor to join our team and help deliver an exceptional experience for our guests — from the first drink served to the final guest leaving the venue.

The Role

This is a hands-on, front-facing position where no two nights are quite the same. As Bar Supervisor, you’ll take the lead on the bar operation during events, ensuring our guests receive friendly, efficient service while maintaining the high standards expected across The Tuning Fork and Spark Arena.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Leading and supporting the bar team throughout events, keeping everyone motivated, professional, and guest-focused.

  • Providing excellent customer service and serving a range of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.

  • Taking a hands-on approach to the bar operation and leading by example.

  • Managing bar staff and ensuring the smooth running of the bar throughout the night.

  • Assisting with Duty Manager responsibilities when required.

  • Ensuring responsible service and all licensing requirements are consistently met.

  • Managing stock levels and assisting with stock ordering.

  • Completing end-of-night procedures, including closing the venue in line with Spark Arena protocols.

  • Completing event reporting and other operational requirements.

  • Maintaining a safe, professional, and welcoming environment for our guests, artists, and team.

About You

You’re someone who thrives when the doors open, the crowd arrives, and the energy in the room starts to build. You’re confident leading a team, comfortable making decisions on the floor, and understand what it takes to deliver great hospitality in a live event environment.

You’ll bring:

  • Previous experience supervising a bar or hospitality team.

  • A genuine passion for hospitality, live events, and customer service.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Experience with stock management and ordering.

  • A current Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ).

  • A current Manager’s Certificate or relevant hospitality management qualification.

  • The ability to stay calm, organised, and professional in a fast-paced environment.

  • Excellent personal presentation and a strong work ethic.

  • A proactive, hands-on approach and the ability to lead by example.
